Described by Steve (Beardy) and Phil (Bignose) as an out of control hobby, Bignose & Beardy Cider is a wonderful local success story. Now producing 7000 litres of cider a year, as well as vinegars and other products, these local heroes are friendly neighbours to the Vacationist Cabin. A brisk walk across the fields, and down some criss-crossed paths, their cidery on the farm is a great place to visit for tours, tastings and events.
Enjoy a cider tasting and tour at Bignose & Beardy’s beautiful East Sussex orchard and cidery
Each tour with Bignose & Beardy includes…
Bignose & Beardy, often to be found at Sussex cider festivals, make some of the best cider in Sussex. Their real vintage Sussex cider and vinegar uses local waste fruit and their ciders are wild fermented, slow matured, unfiltered and unpastuerised. They produce small batches which change in profile with each year, depending on the source of the apples and the weather. Everything is done by hand and ciders mature for at least a year and often longer, resulting in complex flavours. Specialties are Eastern Counties or New World in style, fresh, acidic, fruity, floral and delicious.
Dates for 2024: 3rd May; 31stMay; 28th June; 19th July; 6th September. Or email us when you book your Vacationist stay and we may be able to make a special booking for your dates. Just ask! These are some of the most unique cider experiences in Sussex.

Our first glamping experience is going strong in beautiful West Sussex. This beloved converted American school bus, Skoolie Stays, launched in June 2021. It was inspired by a family gap-year travelling 14,000 miles across America. Living off-grid, getting closer to nature and each other, was an incredible experience and so positive for our physical and mental health. When we returned to the UK, we shipped a bus over to convert ourselves so that others could enjoy it too
